Kalighat Kali Temple is a famous temple located in the city of Kolkata in the state of West Bengal. The Kolkata city is known by the name of the goddess in the temple. Kalighat Temple History
Lord Vishnu’s, Sateedevi’s body with his weapon made 51 pieces in his chakra, the foot part of the pieces fell on the Bhagirathi coast, where the Kali field was thrown out. The Kali Mata has got a great place in this field, which is located in the vicinity of Ganga Sagar Sangam. Jagannadhaswamy not only the inhabitants of the Puri but also the people of all the inhabitants of the country, the caste goddess for the ordinary, as well as the descendants of the people of Kolkata. Kali Mata is considered as a mere wish to call ‘mango’ mother.
In this temple, Navratras are performed fairly in the Special prayers and Chaitra Mamas along with Nithya Pujas.
